This was our first to Grandma and Granddad Moreton’s new home near The Lakes in Penrith, Cumbria. (the red circle in the upper right corner below) Hallin Fell is the bump in the lower left by lake Ellswater.
This the view from the top of Hallin Fell with a magnificent view of Ellswater beyond.........

After the climb we drove to Keswick where we had Coffee with Baileys Irish Cream (and saw the the player piano).

We left the next day following a visit to a National Trust Garden. Carol’s cousin Penny joined us for the morning.

We wnt by train from Birmingham which took about two and a half hours. The next day it was just a 20 minute drive to Hallin Fell (the big bump overlooking the lake Ellswater below.) We spent the day climbing Hallin Hell, with Hannah in the lead!

The wind was fierce, the landscape still a bit bleak and brown as it was early Spring just after the lambing season
